Abstract

ABSTRAK

Latar Belakang : Berdasarkan World Health Organization (WHO), sekitar 15-20% mengalami BBLR dari semua kelahiran diseluruh dunia sebanyak 20 juta pertahun.

ABSTRACT

DETERMINANT RELATED TO THE INCIDENT OF LOW BIRTH WEIGHT (LBW) IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE TOTOREJO PUSKESMAS UPTD FOR THE PERIOD 2024

Background: Based on the World Health Organization (WHO), around 15-20% experience LBW out of all 20 million births throughout the world per year. Objective: To find out the factors associated with the incidence of low birth weight (LBW) in the Totorejo Community Health Center UPTD work area for the period January – March 2024. Method: This research uses an analytical research design and a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 90 mothers who gave birth at the Totorejo Community Health Center and the sample size was 90 using total sampling techniques. The data collection method in this research uses a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the static chi square test. Research Results: Shows that 33.3% of mothers gave birth with LBW, 54.4% of mothers' parity were in the mutipara/grande category, 60.0% of mothers' Hb levels were in the non-anemic category, and 75.6% of mothers' LILA measurements were in the non-CED category. From the results of the chi square test, it was found that there was no relationship between parity and the incidence of LBW (p=0.708), there was a relationship between Hb size and LBW (p=0.040) OR=2.822, and there was a relationship between LILA size and the incidence of LBW (p=0.000) OR=10.286 . Suggestion: It is hoped that mothers who are pregnant and planning a pregnancy will be able to increase their insight and knowledge about balanced nutrition and vitamins for pregnant women.
